Start your day with a breakfast at Plaza Uta El Hammam

You have a few restaurants on the main place to get a traditional breakfast while observing the tourists arriving at Chefchaouen. Choose any of them butt don’t go for lunch or dinner. Restaurant Morisco is a good option where you can sit on the rooftop.

Wake up early to walk in the medina by yourself

Enjoy the medina and take your pics without the crowd before 9am! After that, tourists will flow and it will get busy till the night. You can also enjoy more authenticity late at night and will see children play in the streets till midnight!

Drink an orange juice with your feet cooling down in the river of Ras El Ma

The locals have put some tables and chairs in the river to transform it into a huge terrace. You put your feet in the cold water and sip an orange juice, unique way to refresh and relax on hot days! If the water is too cold for you, no worries, there are tables available next to the river.

Walk to Spanish Mosque to watch sunset over Chefchaouen

This is a 30-minute walk from the medina. It’s a bit of cardio but you will be rewarded at the top with the unique view of the blue village surrounded by the mountains. Watching the sunset to the sound of the muezzin that resonates throughout the blue village is a real show.

Enjoy a delicious traditional Moroccan dinner at Bab El Sour

Kemias are a specialty here! You can choose between eight salted flavors (hummus, tchachouka…) and five sweet flavors (mandarin salad with cinnamon, homemade creme caramel …) in small or XXL sizes (130 dhs for 7 small kemias or 180 dhs for 7 XXL). Try them all and enjoy the view from the rooftop of Tangiers and the Spain coast just 14km away

Enjoy live music at Café Clock or Veranda Café and Restaurant

Both restaurants offer live music at sunset! At Café Clock, you will enjoy an international vibe and Mediterranean food. You can also try the camel burger! Veranda Café is an amazing place for having a Moroccan tea at sunset.

Visit the Kasbah

If you're getting tired of blue, pay a visit to the Kasbah with its brown color and its lovely garden. You will feel like you are in Andalusia. You also get a unique view of Chefchaouen from there. The entry is 60 MAD which is overpriced but it’s still worth a visit.

Appreciate a fancy dinner at Triana Restaurant

Take a day trip to Tetouan (optional)

If you feel like Chefchaouen looks too much like Disneyland, you can go to Tetouan to discover authenticity. Tetouan, formerly ruled by Spain, looks like a white village from Andalusia. Its medina was designated by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Bear in mind that Tetouan is very authentic and therefore not really touristy. You can feel unsafe as a tourist so skip it if you’re not comfortable and don’t research full authenticity.
